Entry requirements
School leavers
To be eligible for entry into any of our courses you are required to:
- Have successfully completed the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or its equivalent and meet the ATAR requirements for the course
- Undertake an admission interview to demonstrate an interest in and commitment to complementary medicine
Please note for SSNT degree level courses, you must have completed prerequisite English units 3 and 4 and two science subjects.
Mature age entry
To be eligible for entry into any of our courses you are required to:
- Be 21 years of age and over
- Undertake an admission interview to demonstrate life experience, an interest in and commitment to complementary medicine
- Provide an updated resume or Curriculum Vitae
How to Apply
Full-time entry semester 1 intake
School leavers and mature age students who intend to study full-time must apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) and list the Southern School of Natural Therapies as their first preference.
VTAC applications forms are found in the VTAC guide, available online and from schools and newsagents. If the VTAC deadline has passed, apply directly to the school by contacting the Course and Careers Advisor for more information.
Part-time and mid-year entry

Student selection
All prospective students (including VTAC applicants) need to make an appointment for an admission interview. Contact the school to make an appointment with the Course and Careers Advisor.
Study Now and Pay Later
Most Australian citizens are eligible for Commonwealth Government assistance schemes for Diploma and Bachelor level courses. These schemes allow you to defer part or all of your tuition fees.
Eligible SSNT students can access:
- FEE-HELP loan scheme for SSNT Higher Education Degree courses
- VET FEE-HELP loan scheme for SSNT's Diploma Vocational Educational qualifications
Repayments commence via the tax system once your income rises above the minimum threshold ($44,911 in 2010-11)
Upon successful entry into your chosen course, you can complete the relevant Government assistance application form or nominate to pay upfront at the start of each academic semester.
Course credit
Course credit and recognition of prior learning are available, contact our Course and Careers Advisor for application information. Certified testamurs and transcripts are required from recognised institutions and must be supplied with your application.
Enrolment Procedure
How to get a registration form
Direct applicants
You will be given a registration form after your SSNT admission interview, providing it is successful.
VTAC applicants
Once you receive your VTAC Letter of Offer, contact the School and request a registration form. You must have already completed your admission interview.
Additional documentation
Complete the registration form and return with the following documentation:
- Certified copy of either your passport, birth certificate or Australian citizenship
- Certified copies of school results, certificates, diplomas, degrees, further education
- Passport-sized photograph
- Certified copy of driver's licence (if available)
Once your completed registration form and additional document are received, SSNT will contact you via Email and post with information regarding subject enrolment.
